I am teaching a portrait drawing class this week at the Fine Art League of the Carolinas. The studio is amazing, and the students are eager to learn. Only three days in and everyone is doing a great portrait of our wonderful model Elizabeth. I am having a great time, as always, here in Asheville. More pictures to come on Friday.

Drawing in Progress

Here is a drawing I have been working on this summer. Not quite finished but I hope to hire Anna back to finish up. Pencil on toned paper with white chalk.

Doug Flynt's Workshop

My painting of Jessica from Doug Flynts workshop. Doug is amazing at explaining the complex science behind light on form, Hue, Value and Chroma. Information filled workshop. His Blog explains a lot. Im still going back and reading it to grasp it all. http://douglasflynt.blogspot.com/

Sarah Lamb Three day workshop

This is Sarah Lamb's set up during the workshop. She did a great painting of peaches and milk.
Check out her work at http://www.sarahlamb.net/

I had a great time making a quick little still-life for Sarah Lamb's workshop last week. She's a great painter who came into New York to teach at GCA even thou she is 7+ months pregnant. Here is my painting of plums and white flowers.
