The Butler Institute of American Art

I have a painting in the Annual National Juried Show: 75th National Midyear Exhibition at The Butler Institute of American Art
The show will be up June 28, 2011 Through August 28, 2011

Quick studies

Here are a few of the quick sketch portraits I have been doing the last few months. The drawings are one day, 4 hour sessions.
The male painting is one day, 2 hour session. The female painting is a four day, 4 hours each sessions.
I have been enjoying the practice of working quick while still using the same methods of thinking form as I do on my longer paintings.

Beaux-Arts Atelier : The Inaugural Year

I am honored to have been asked to instruct at the Beaux-Arts Atelier in New York, an atelier that bridges the gap between art and architecture. I will be teaching cast drawing next fall to their first class of classical architecture students.

Fine Arts Legue of the Carolinas

I am returning to Asheville, North Carolina this summer to teach three workshop at the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas. Last summers workshop at FALC went so well! Plus the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC are one of my favorite places to visit. So, I am glad to be getting another chance to take a break from city life to come down and share some drawing and sculpting techniques to those of you who can join me in Asheville. I will be teaching a duo class- 1/2 day cast drawing and 1/2 day cast sculpture for two weeks July 11-22, 2011. And then a portrait drawing class all day from July 25-29. Please see FALC's website for more information and to sign up.

Best of two cities

photos are views of Kelly Drive, along the river behind the Philadelphia Art museum. So far one of my favorite places to go in Philly. Great place to ride bikes and amazingly beautiful at sunset.

Philadelphia is the home of my new studio space. Im renovating an old carriage stables into a beautiful, livable studio space with two other studio mates. Pictures and more info coming soon.

here are two amazing views of NY city.

And I am spending my weekends in gorgeous New York. I am still teaching at the Grand Central Academy friday evenings (cast drawing/painting) and Saturdays (cast sculpture). With the benefits and beauty of both cities I couldn't ask for more.
