Drawing in Progress

Here is a drawing I have been working on this summer. Not quite finished but I hope to hire Anna back to finish up. Pencil on toned paper with white chalk.

  1. How did you Tone the Paper for this Drawing? Great drawing.

  2. I used shellac, denatured alcohol, and graphite powder and just brushed it on. I can't seem to remember the ratio for the shellac and alcohol, I'll look it up and get back.

  3. With that shellac-"Tone Mix" does it matter what paper you use?

  5. Ive only tried a few papers and it seemed to work fine on either. I used artistico fabriano and strathmore. Give it a try and experiment.

  6. I have been experimenting with the shellac mix. The brush used and the amount of Graphite, makes quite a difference to the final outcome. I can see why you suggest testing.
I am going to try adding a light "color" to the mix too. Thanks for your input.
